The totals are in and we have a new GFOTM!!!
Meet Jacqui Bourne!!
I was born on 10 April 1974, in Windhoek, Namibia. I relocated to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, when I was 15 and have lived here ever since. I have been married to my darling, caring, supportive husband, Chris for 10 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters, Megan (8) and Jessica (5). I am a SAHM and am currently studying for my teaching degree part time.
I have always been passionate about crafting and have in some way always scrapbooked. I have a couple of 'old' scrapbooks from my school years with letters, photos etc from friends. I moved onto more intense memory keeping and scrapbooking when Jessica was a baby and have been hooked ever since. I am also a passionate quilter and have pieced a few quilts for my family.
I owned a scrapbook store that I ran from home for a while and taught scrapbooking classes to children and adults. Since I sold my shop, I've still been teaching scrapbooking classes to children at my daughters school. These classes are a highlight for me as I enjoy seeing the pleasure scrapbooking brings to so many people.
I have attended most of the scrapbooking conventions held here in South Africa and have met many amazing scrapbookers who have in some way or another left their mark on the way I scrapbook today. Some of the fabulous scrapbookers include Becky Higgins, Faye Morrow-Bell, Tracy White, Rebecca Sower, Karen Foster, Heidi Swapp, Donna Downey, Stacy Julian, Kelly White, Jenni Bowlin, Julie Comstock and Anita Oldham.
I prefer to scrapbook in 12 x 12, but have also enjoyed making a host of mini albums as well as some altered projects too. I prefer to focus on the photos and let them tell the story and add a few embellishments to enhance the page. I enjoy using products from Making Memories, Basic Grey, Chatterbox, Heidi Swapp, Prima, Cosmo Cricket, Jenni Bowlin and many more! Unfortunately the choice of scrapbooking product we get here in South Africa is very limited in comparison with what you get over in the States, so I tend to order online if I want anything out of the ordinary that isn't available here!
