I think we'll all agree that scrapbooking and photography go hand in hand, so wouldn't it be fun to learn more about making our photographs fantastic? Amy is posting lots of awesome information in Photo Chit-Chat, Photo Share, and today she posted about Composition in Tips & Tutorial. Be sure to check out the new section of the forum! February 2010 Challenges!

Hi Everyone!! This is Carol, and I'm very excited to be updating the Scrap-Friendzy blog for the first time!! I wanted to let you know what we've got going on for February!! Be sure to check out ALL of the February 2010 Challenges!!

Here's what the Design Team will be posting to challenge you this month:

On Mondays look for MONDAY MOTIVATION! This can be any type of challenge, including but not limited to a sketch, a recipe challenge, a scrap-lift, color combincation, etc. Its purpose is to inspire you!!

On Tuesdays look for TECHNIQUE TUESDAY! These will challenge you to use a specific technique on your creations! It could be painting, inking, embossing, stitching, etc. It's always fun to try a new technique!

On Wednesdays, we're getting crazy with WACKY WEDNESDAY!! This will be something silly but hopefully FUN! It might be a silly survey, a blog challenge, a wacky scrap challenge, etc. We hope you find it to be WACKY and FUN!

On Thursdays, we'll be posting TUTORIAL THURSDAY! The purpose of this is to teach something you might not already know. It will be detailed, and you'll have lots of step-by-step photos to check out! We hope you'll enjoy the tutorials!

On Fridays, we're featuring FOTO FRIDAY! This is all about photography! You'll be challenged to take a pic of a specific item, use a specific camera setting, post process your photo, etc. Once again, this is a fun day and it's dedicated to photography!!

ALL of the challenges have Friendz Pointz (FPZ) assigned to them! Keep track of your points in your February Gradebook, and at the end of the month, there will be a WINNER! We hope that you find February 2010 at Scrap-Friendzy to be FUN and INSPIRING!!

Monday Motivation

Remember, for every challenge you complete, you earn FRIENDZ POINTZ! At the end of the month, the girlfriend with the most FPZ will win a cool prize!!

Design Team Call

We are searching for new Girlfriendz to add to our design team!!
This term will be February through July.

What will be expected of you as a Design Team member?
-Board activity is very important, you will be expected to post on the message boards and comment on projects uploaded into the gallery daily.
-You will be required to come up with atleast 2 challenges every month. (During crops or special events, this number could increase.)
-When we host contests, crops or special events, you will be required to actively participate in the planning, promotion and hosting of the event.
-Promote our site wherever and whenever you can on your blogs, galleries, and wherever else it is permitted.
-Actively participate in challenges posted by other DT members.
-We are not a monthly kit club, but occasionaly, we offer kits. If you are asked to design with a kit, you will be required to complete atleast 3 pages and 1 card or altered project.

What's in it for you?
-First of all, there isn't a more friendly scrappy community on the net! Being a part of Scrap-Friendzy, you will: meet new people, gain new girlfriendz, learn new scrappy techniques, be challenged and greatly inspired!
-DT blinkie to post on your signatures and blog.
-If you are asked to design with a kit during your term, you will be given one for free!
-If a kit is not offered, you will be given a cool prize package at the end of your term!


To apply, please submit the following requirements in an email to scrapfriendzy@windstream.net by January 24th at midnight CST. (Please send all project submissions as attachments to the email)
1. Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address
2. A link to an online gallery showing your work
3. A link to your blog, if you have one
4. A brief Bio of yourself
5. A link to a site that you are the most active on and your username.
6. Attachments of the following projects(these do not have to be new):
* 3 of your favorite layouts that you feel show your style best.
* 1 altered item or mini album and 1 card.
7. Valentine's Challenge: Because we will celebrate Valentine's Day next month, and a very important part of your duties as a DT member will be hosting challenges, we would like to see what kind of challenges you can come up with! Come up with a challenge based on a Valentine's or Love theme(don't forget your example). Think outside the box and use your creativity! This can be a page, card or altered item challenge! Whatever you choose! If you are chosen to be a part of our DT, your challenge & example will be used during our February event!
8. Activity on our Message Board throughout the DT Call is encouraged, but not manditory, but could be part of our consideration. We'd love to get to know you better!

New design team will be notified soon after the call ends and will be announced by Feb. 1st!
